DPA started our day today. We then started to read the story One Well: The Story of Water on Earth. We did a little quiz on how much water different things required. (Like it takes a 185L of water to make one glass of milk.) Students also had the opportunity to carry either 1L or 10L of water around the classroom. It was a starting point to the discussion of how much water we use and how lucky we are to have running water and not having to worry about going to the well to get our water. Read aloud was before recess. After recess, we finished reading the story and then took a look at various weather gauges including a hygrometer, barometer and thermometer while also looking at a real anemometer. After lunch, the grade fours started their look at telling time, the fives with perimeter and the sixes looked at measuring and constructing angles. We ended the day by starting to take a look at various forms of government.
