We started today with a look at some Pacific Northwest art. In particular we focused on the ovoid and u-shape for our drawings of the eagle and salmon heads. In Language Arts, we dimmed down the lights and lit some candles (LED) and thought about a “fire” memory. Students then told their stories to a partner and some partners then shared their stories with the class. Read aloud was before recess. After recess, group A and B looked at our first flipped science experiment on electricity and the other students continued reading legends and writing summaries. After lunch, the grade fours and fives continued with area and perimeter and the sixes looked at the area of parallelograms and triangles. We ended the day playing basketball in the gym. However, tomorrow we will take a step back and do some more skill building and rule discussion before any more “games” are played.
