We started our day looking at some very creative kids… http://sylviashow.com/ and http://blog.ted.com/2013/07/11/the-high-schooler-who-invented-a-promising-test-for-pancreatic-cancer-a-qa-with-teenage-optimist-jack-andraka/ I’m trying to encourage the kids to find something they enjoy doing and pouring themselves into it. In Math, the grade fours continued with comparing numbers, the fives looking at some differences by 10,100 and 1000s and the sixes with thousandths and ten thousandths. Read aloud was before recess. After recess, we started our look at forestry in BC. After lunch, the students worked on a self and peer edit for their letters/journal entries that the TOC had them complete a few weeks ago and for their what if I had a minion for a week stories. We ended the day in the gym starting to work with some atomic volleyball skills.
